Dylan Lewis
artist
Stellenbosch, South Africa
About
One of the world's foremost sculptors of the animal form and the human figure. Lewis began his career sculpting wildlife — big cats rendered in bronze with intensity and anatomical precision that quickly brought international recognition. In the early 2000s, he made a dramatic shift to the human figure and more abstract explorations of what he calls the "wilderness within." His work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy in London and the Saatchi Gallery.
Artistic Style: Monumental bronze sculpture — from anatomically precise wildlife to abstracted human figures emerging from the landscape
