Cloud Gate Study — Liquid Mirror

A polished stainless-steel maquette from the series of studies Anish Kapoor created while developing his monumental Cloud Gate sculpture in Chicago's Millennium Park. The mirror-perfect surface curves inward, reflecting and distorting the surrounding environment into a surreal, liquid panorama. Kapoor's exploration of concavity and reflection transforms the solid metal into an apparently weightless, ever-changing portal — a small-scale embodiment of his lifelong investigation into the void.
