Berlin Gallery Weekend Returns with Record Participation

Berlin Gallery Weekend, the city's flagship commercial art event, returns this spring with a record 52 participating galleries — up from 47 last year. The three-day event transforms neighbourhoods from Mitte to Kreuzberg into a walkable circuit of openings, artist talks, and new exhibitions, attracting collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts from across Europe.

New Venues, New Voices

This year's programme features eight galleries participating for the first time, including several artist-run spaces from Wedding and Neukölln that reflect Berlin's continued evolution as a centre for emerging art. Notable debuts include two galleries focused on digital and AI-assisted art, signalling the event's responsiveness to shifting creative practices.

Highlights

Among the established participants, König Galerie presents a major new installation in St. Agnes church, while Sprüth Magers opens a solo show by an artist whose work addresses migration and belonging in contemporary Europe. The programme also includes guided bicycle tours connecting galleries across different districts — a format that acknowledges Berlin's geography and the practical challenges of seeing 52 shows in three days.

Gallery Weekend remains free and open to all visitors, with a downloadable app providing maps, schedules, and curator commentary for each participating venue.
